Arriving and exploring

Getting to Sitges

There are three airports called Barcelona. There are many airlines serving the three airports. The three airports are:

      Barcelona (BCN) in El Prat     25 minutes by car.

      Barcelona (REU) in Reus       75 minutes by car.

      Barcelona (GIR) in Girona     150 minutes by car.

Airport collections by private transfer with an English driver can be arranged for 65€ from Barcelona El Prat. Reus and Girona are more expensive.

Getting about in Sitges

You won’t need a car in Sitges as it has a small town centre and you can walk to most places in less than five minutes.

Good train and bus services make it easy to explore the surrounding areas, including the near-by market towns of Vilanova i la Geltrú and Vila Franca de Pennedes and the cultural and artistic centre of Barcelona. An hour’s excursion (we can help to arrange this for you) will take you to the serene and beautiful Monastry of Monserrat set high up in strange eerie mountainous rocks, accessed by road or cable car.

We can arrange a Friexsnet cava tour or the Pennedes Wine tour or the exclusive visit to Albert i Noya organic vineyard.

Car hire

If you wish to hire a car for a day to explore the local area we have a local car hire service from 40 euros per day and is much cheaper than the airport car hire services. You will need your paper license as well as your plastic card.

We do not recommend driving into Barcelona, the train is fast, safe and cheap.

Parking in Sitges

If you do bring a car to Sitges please note that parking in the centre of Sitges is difficult. There are private car parks which cost up to 30€ per 24 hours. We have access to a private parking space for 20€ per day. Free parking is available about 20 minutes' walk from the town centre, although you park at your own risk.
